Legislature Passes Groundbreaking Climate Bill

Last night the Colorado State House voted to adopt HB-1261, codifying ambitious, science-based, statewide carbon pollution goals and directing the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to adopt cost-effective regulations for achieving them. The goals include: a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of at least 26 percent by 2025, 50 percent by 2030, and 90 percent by 2050 compared to 2005 levels. Passing this bold and important bill has been one of CC4CA’s highest legislative priorities. The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk for his signature.
