The Long Anticipated “Big Climate Bill” Introduced in the State House

Speaker of the House KC Becker introduced legislation today aimed at substantially reducing carbon pollution in Colorado. The bill, HB19-1261, would establish a 2025 GHG emissions reduction goal of 26%, 2030 reduction of 50%, and 2050 reduction goal of 90% (all compared to 2005 levels). The bill would also direct the Air Quality Control Commission to promulgate regulations for achieving these goals. Passing a bill that codifies statewide carbon pollution goals and sets the state on a path for achieving those, both of which this bill, does is a top legislative priority for CC4CA.
