Colorado’s Air Quality Control Commission last week ruled against a motion by various car dealer associations to delay consideration of advanced clean car standards. Had their procedural move been successful, it would have prevented the AQCC from meeting Governor Hickenlooper’s end-of-year deadline. CC4CA and other supporters of the proposed standards argued against the delay.
The AQCC’s consideration of advanced clean car standards, thanks in part to testimony by multiple CC4CA members, would protect Colorado from the Environmental Protection Agency’s plan to weaken the federal standards. The AQCC is roughly midway through its evaluation and is on track to make a decision before Christmas.
